There is a Superwoman among us. I don’t mean the type from the
planet Krypton, but the type that seems to have endless energy and
abilities. She is not able to leap over tall buildings with a single
bound or outrun a speeding bullet, but she can outlast other members
decades younger than her.
Our choice for member of the quarter is a quiet mild mannered
woman, Nobi Fisher. Nobi has been a member of the club since May
1999. Her exercise routine is varied and challenging. She
participates in Step, Cycling, Yoga, Triathlon Training, Hi/Low,
Kickboxing, Barbell Blast, Body Sculpting, recently began lifting
weights in the weight room and plays golf 3 times per week!
The most amazing fact about Nobi, isn’t the amount of weight she
lifts (which is considerable), or the fact that she takes Step class
on the highest riser, or the fact that she will be 70 years old in
February! What is amazing is that she was diagnosed with stomach
cancer 6 years ago, had 75% of her stomach removed and had the
quickest recovery her doctor had ever seen. She is today clear of
cancer, getting stronger every day and continues to work out over 2
hours every day.
Like many other members with similar circumstances, Nobi is truly
an inspiration to the rest of us and she represents what living a
healthy lifestyle can do for you. Keep up the good work Nobi!
