It is a common perception that Gym members are a narcissistic
group. The staff and members of MBS have proven over and over again
that they are truly the exception to this suggestion. MBS prides
itself on being a “family” gym and it is so true. So many of our
children who once stayed in the nursery now have their own
membership cards. Parents attend silver sneakers classes. But mainly
we are a group of people who genuinely care about each other. We are
there to support each other in our times of need. I cannot help but
reflect on all the trials our members have been thru over the years.
–tragic deaths, debilitating illnesses, troubled teens, accidents
and on and on. Then my mind wanders to all the celebrations of life-
the weddings, the births, the anniversaries, etc etc. I have always
been proud of the fact that we are all part of this very unique
group that truly shares the joy and the sorrows of it’s’ members.
Our family wishes to express their most heartfelt gratitude for
the overwhelming support shown to us at the recent “Journey for
Hope” fundraiser for Owen given by Michael’s Body Scenes. The
overall carnival atmosphere of the event, which included children,
and adults of all ages was a real boost for our exhausted,
downtrodden spirits and showed us once again the innate goodness in
people. Throughout this journey, Owen has always expressed awe that
people care enough about him to want to offer him hope for a better
future. We were overwhelmed with the turnout and the money that was
raised. The feeling of being so loved was amazing.
It is often suggested that our area is the self-centered capital
of the world. For the second time, our family has seen the total
opposite from this community. My family has been shown compassion
and love that rivals any small-town U.S.A. - from the healthy meals
delivered- to the little children donating their bags of pennies and
small change. You should all be proud of your involvement in this
very special group of people.
We are so very grateful to all of you.
Fondly,
