Oh, what a night! Michaels Body Scenes hosted
one heck of a party to celebrate their 15th. anniversary. Over 450 attended the
blast that was held on a Saturday night at Gatsbys.
I arrived late (after spraying my hair with room spray rather than
hair spray and having to re-shower) but in time to hear our fearless leader, Michael Papamichael, recite a speech of thanks.
Whoa! He can really give a good speech as well
as teach aerobics and put together a newsletter and repair cars and
do painting and spackling and run the Greek church community parish,
I thought.
Sunny Allen and Allison Geller were able organizers, handing out
drink and raffle tickets. The prizes were incredible including 7 Gift bags containing an
MBS jacket, a propel drink and a protein bar. Other prizes were a one, a two, and a three
month membership to MBS, a Jules Jurgensen watch from Juste Gold
Creations, a $100 gift certificate to Christina’s Bella Boutique and
a $500 gift certificate to Bloomingdales with a personal shopper!
The kitchen did an admirable job bringing out platter after platter
or pizza, pasta and crudités. It was so good to see all our friends from the gym dressed
to the nines with their significant others!
Pam Robison, who came with her mom, looked terrific so shortly after
her surgery.
My doctor was amazed at how fast I recovered, she said.
When youre in shape, everything goes better!
I havent seen Linda and Neil Berman in a while, and they both
looked great. Ditto Lenny Geronemus and John Contant, two great guys I only see at these
gatherings although their wives Pam and Andrea are always at the gym.
I truly enjoyed the table of photos that brought back fond memories
of the past and not so fond memories of Spandex! Gosh, everyone looked so young!
Theres one thing for sure, when MBS throws a
party you can guarantee a good time! Congratulations again for 15 years of commitment and
fun!

At 8:00 pm I took a long look around the room and stopped a moment
to reflect.
Theres Alyne Cole, shes a dedicated school teacher
whos been a member for over ten years, and over there Natalie DAmato, her two
boys Joey and Johnny are regulars at our Kids Center. By one of the pool tables is Kevin
and Doris Hurley and theres Sandra Bertoglio and Mark Rixon and Tim Funk and Kim
Shultes and Dolly Hernandez and Marty Lowe and so on and so on and so on.
At that moment I realized just how many people had come together to
celebrate our 15 year anniversary. There are so many people that I have come to know and
become friends with that I could fill this entire newsletter with their names.
I noticed something elseeveryone seemed to be having a great
time. There was good food, pool, drinks, and most of all a great group of people that make
our club so special. Moments like that make all the hard work that goes into keeping the
club going, a truly rewarding experience. I watched as members played pool, shared a
laugh, and some got a little silly too. Many of our staff were there as friends and not
employees, enjoying the night with the rest of this big extended family.
As owners we have always wanted to create a comfortable friendly
atmosphere where people can excel at whatever their goals may be. Nights like this remind
us that we are on the right track and we are very lucky to have such a wonderful group of
members and staff. Thank you all for coming, for your patronage and for your hard work. As
always, we look forward to getting together again soon.
