is the beginning of a speech by one of my heroes Dr. Martin Luther
King Jr. Considering February was Black History month I wanted to
share a dream that Ann Rizutto, one of my clients, had.
I originally met Ann through a couple of
clients that I have. She had come to a point in her life where she
needed to make a change. Feeling uncomfortable in a gym atmosphere,
Ann decided to shed about twenty pounds before ever stepping foot
into Michael's.
After losing the 20 pounds, we sat down and
talked about her goals. We decided to train together 3 times per
week for 30 minutes and Ann would do cardio 4 to 6 times per week
for 30 to 45 minutes on her own.
As far as my philosophy on training goes I am
as old fashioned as they come, because I know weightlifting with
proper form never let me or anyone else down (only bad food habits,
lack of discipline, and laziness lets people down!). As this world
continues to try to find an easy way for everything--surgery, drugs,
and ridiculous diets especially for losing fat and gaining muscle,
we just keep getting fatter and more lost.
One year later her dream has come true! She
has lost 62 pounds, dropped over 20% body fat, and has lowered her
cholesterol over 50 points. I pray that your fitness dreams come
true just like Ann’s have!
Keep the Faith and never give up on your
dreams. May God bless and sustain you.
