Michael Frank

I am a graduate of The Fitness Institute, holding
certifications with The American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM),
National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) and USA Weight
Lifting. I have been a health fitness professional since 1988,
allied with other health fitness professionals to assist and
complete a fitness support team. As of February
2008, I have also been certified by the NCPAD National center on
Physical Activity and Disability. This is a specialty certification
to work with chronic illnesses and disabilities. My clients range in age from 9-90,
which include children and adults with disabilities and/or
handicaps, youths, young to middle age adults and seniors, as well
as, athletes on the high school, college and professional levels.
My
goal is to inform the public, relating the aspects of good health
through fitness how to improve the quality of life. It has been
said, “if you have your health, you have everything”. Anyone with
long term plans to lead a healthy active independent life style
would benefit from participating in a properly designed fitness
program.
Regardless of age or goals, a properly designed training program
can lead to a stronger healthier more productive life style. For
example, a young athlete may start a training program and will
increase strength and performance. An adult’s goal may be to improve
stamina and/or body composition by increasing muscle mass and
decreasing body fat. This is accomplished through weight training,
proper nutrition and aerobic exercises. The secret to success is
program design, goal setting, discipline and commitment to
performing the workouts.
Depending on the design of the program, the short and long-term
benefits of participating in a fitness program may include: improved
cardio respiratory fitness, decrease in body fat, resting blood
pressure, resting heart rate, improved cholesterol ratio levels of
HDL and LDL. In addition, improved self-concept and well being,
increase bone density, functional power, muscular endurance, local
muscular strength, muscle mass and neuromuscular control.
As
a former aspiring athlete, I have been fortunate turning my
avocation into my profession as a successful personal trainer. It
would be of great pleasure and privilege to work with you imparting
my experience and knowledge.
